Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove the entitled component effectively without causing variation of bromide ion concentration, by bringing the developing solution into contact with a Br<-> substituted basic ion exchange resin and the resin substituted by anions other than Br<-> in a specified resin volume ratio. CONSTITUTION:A developing solution is brought into contact with a strong or weak basic ion exchange resin substituted by Br<-> by treating it with HBr, KBr, NaBr, NH4Br, etc. and the resin substituted by anions other than Br<->, obtained by treating the resin with an aqueous solution containing OH<->, C<->, SO4<2->, CO3<2->, COOH<->, etc., in a proper resin volume ratio to keep Br<-> concentration in the solution constant. This method permits an anion surfactant, an organic inhibitor, the oxidized product of the developing agent, S2O3<2->, and other development hindering components to be removed without changing Br<-> concentration in the developing solution.
