Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate design of strength by a method wherein in operation of a condenser used for an axial-flow exhuast type prime mover, vacuum loading is made to be balanced and, in addition, stress exerted to a steam turbine from the side of a condenser caused by temperature difference between the temperatures at the time of installation and during operation can completely be eliminated. CONSTITUTION:A large number of heat exchanger tubes 7 are provided inside a condenser 4 to condense steam discharged from a steam turbine 1, and a shroud 9, the inside of which is an air cooling chamber 10, is provided under the heat exchanger tubes 7. An exhauster 11 to draw noncondensed gas out of the condenser 4 is provided for the air cooling chamber 10 and a condenser hot well 12 is provided under the group of tubes 7. An end cover 15 is fitted on the opposite side of the prime mover for the condenser 4 through an expansion joint 14 and is supported by supporting members 16 on the steam turbine 1 through tie rods 17 which are connected together with reinforcing rods at about middle points of the tie rods 17. Several guide plates 19 are provided against the flow direction to prevent seat-passing of steam.
