Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the workability of the manufacture of a heat pipe of a profiled cross section by a method in which a wick in closely adhered to the inner will of a pipe, a pathway for steam is secured, and the removing work of core is omitted. CONSTITUTION:A braided, netted, or clothed wick 2 of glass fibers or metal fibers, e.g., of Cu, Al, stainless steel, etc., is attached to the inner wall of a round metal pipe of Cu, Al, etc., serving as an outer container pipe 1. Then, an inner pipe 3 of an outside diameter similar to or slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the wick 2 is inserted and fixed in the outer container pipe 1 in such a way as to put the wick 2 between the outer container pipe 1 and the inner pipe 3 to form a composite pipe 4. In this case, the inner pipe used includes Cu pipe, Al pipe, etc.
