Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a U type tube which is high in roughness of a bent part and is free from rupture or thickness reduction in an outer-bent part by bending the bulged side of an eccentrically bulged part which has beforehand been formed to the length required for the length to be the outer bent side of a large diameter pipe into a U shape in a manner as to come to the outer bend side.
CONSTITUTION: A large diameter pipe A is subjected to one side drawing from both sides thereof respectively with an eccentric die 1 by leaving part of the intermediate thereof, that is, an eccentric nondrawn part C. Next, the part C bulged into said eccentric shape is pressed and is deformed to an ellipse wherein the bulging direction thereof is a long axis. Next, the pipe B deformed of the bulged part into an ellipse is placed on the hollow forming parts 13, 13' on the female die 8 of a press device consisting of the female die 8 and a male die 9, and the male die 9 is driven downward. The leading end of the hollow forming part 14 of the die 9 is abutted on the center on the linear side of the part C of the pipe B, and the abutting part thereof is begun to be bent inward. In accordance with this, on the other hand, the two turning tables 12, 12' of the die 8 are turned around pins 11, 11' to bend the pipe B at the included angle 90° along the part 14, whereby a desired U-shaped pipe is manufactured.
