Abstract

PURPOSE:Not only to make a device small-sized but also its price adjustment unnecessary, by providing a luminous point scanner having an optical deflecting means for deflecting a luminous flux led into a waveguide, an optical dividing means for dividing said luminous flux, and an optical focusing means. CONSTITUTION:A recording and reproducing system is provided with a luminous point scanning element 12 of an optical integrated type, and the luminous point scanning element 12 is constituted of a light source 13, an optical collimating thin film lens 14, an optical deflecting means 15, and optical condensing thin film lens 16, and an optical waveguide 17. When a luminous flux is deflected continuously or intermittently as a recording tape 18 runs, a signal having a recording track being in parallel or in almost parallel with the running direction of the tape is recorded. Also, the reproducing system is provided with an optical dividing means 20, too, which applies a DC signal to the light source 13 when reproducing, and generates light having uniform luminance. According to such a constitution, not only accuracy of the tape running system is loosened but also the device is made small-sized.
