Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled fiber of large initial modulus, good level dyeing, because of its specific fine structure satisfying a specific relationship between the peak height of dynamic loss tangent and the peak temperature and of high structural stability at elevated temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Nylon 66 is melted, extruded through the spinneret in a head heated at a prescribed temperature 2, passed through tubular heating zone 3 into a yarn 1. The yarn is sucked with fluid aspirator 4, cooled, passed through the finishing oil applicator 5 and collector 6 and taken up to the roller 7, thus producing a yarn that has more than 15g/d initial modulus at 20°C, 60% RH, the peak height, tan δmax, of dynamic loss tangent, tan δ, and the peak temperature, Tmax in °C, both of which satisfy the equation. The yarn of the above properties is preferably produced by effecting the spinning at a high speed of more than 6,000m/min.
