Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily manufacture a seamless metallic hollow body by electroforming by using a matrix for electroforming manufactured with an elastic urethane oligomer contg. metallic powder or graphite powder and having electric conductivity and a medium degree of polymn.
CONSTITUTION: An elastic urethane oligomer composition having a medium degree of polymn. obtd. by reacting diisocyanate with polyol and vegetable oil or higher alcohol contg. a relatively long alkyl group is mixed with metallic particles of copper, silver or the like with superior electric conductivity, and the mixture is cast together with a prototype 1 having a carved pattern 2 on the surface as a core material to form a hollow cylindrical matrix 3 having a pattern 2' which is reverse to the pattern 2 of the prototype 1 in protrusions on the inside. Electroforming is then carried out using the electrically conductive matrix 3 to manufacture a seamless electroformed metallic body 4 having the same pattern 2 as the prototype 1. Since the matrix 3 has elasticity, it can be easily separated from the electroformed product 4 by pulling.
