Abstract
PURPOSE:To almost recover the strength of the weld zone of a 10Ni steel to that of the base metal by welding the steel with electron beams, hardening it in 2 steps, and carrying out tempering under conditions which provide a specified temper parameter value or below. CONSTITUTION:A 10Ni steel which is a refining type high tensile steel contg. 10% Ni and 8% Co as basic added elements is welded with electron beams and hardened in 2 steps. By continuously carrying out tempering under conditions which provide <=16.8 temper parameter P, the strength of the weld zone, that is, the 0.2% yield strength is recovered to about 120kgf/mm.<2> corresponding to that of the base metal.
