Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to restore quickly a combustion state of flame weakened due to a sudden gust of wind by a method wherein in case the titled cylinder having a number of throughholes drilled in its inner combustion cylinder or intermediate combustion cylinder, small holes of diameters smaller than those of the throughholes are provided among all or some of the throughholes. CONSTITUTION:A number of throughholes 2' and 3' are drilled in the inner combustion cylinder 2 or the intermediate cylinder 3 forming part of the combustion cylinder 1 and the small holes 2'' and 3'' each having a diameter small than that of each of the throughholes 2' and 3' are drilled among all or some of the throughholes. Thus, when a combustion wick held within the combustion cylinder 1 is ignited and burned under a normal combustion condition while combustion air is supplied through the throughholes 2' and 3' and when the power of combustion flame is weakened due to impact or a sudden gust of wind, the quantity of the combustion air flowing through the small holes 2'' and 3'' is reduced to an excessive degree as the combustion air is subjected to a flow resistance greater than that to which it is subjected at the time of passing through the throughholes 2' and 3'. As a result, no temperature drop takes place in the combustion cylinder 1 or result, no temperature drop takes place in the combustion cylinder 1 or the upper portion of the combustion wick so that the amount of combustion increases gradually and the combustion flame rises high to return to its normal condition.
