Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an easily moldable low cost armrest by subjecting an outer layer comprising a soft thermoplastic resin and an inner layer comprising a hard thermoplastic resin to multi-layer blow molding. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin (e.g., theylene-vinyl acetate copilymer) of which Shore hardness is 40 or less and MI is 0.1-7 as an outer layer and a thermoplastic resin (e.g.,PP) of which Shore hardness is 65 or mor and M.I is 0.1-3 as an inner layer are melted and soften in an extruder and extruded as a two-layered parison from one common die and, directly after extrusion, said parison is pinched by a metal mold and air is blown into the internal cavity thereof to mold a hollow product. By tis method, because both resins have appropriate adhesiveness, the fusion of pinch-off is good and blow molding can be carried out well.
