Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve processing such as time axis expansion, compression, inversion and delay for electric signals, by arranging two acoustooptic converters having an ultrasonic wave oscillator and modulating laser beam passing between the both. CONSTITUTION:When an electric signal is inputted to an ultrasonic wave oscillator 1 provided in an acoustooptic converter, the ultrasonic waves generated propagate to an ultrasonic wave absorbing member 2 in a liquid substance. The laser beam incident from a window 5 is diffracted by the ultrasonic waves propagating in a cell. The diffracted light is again diffracted by the ultrasonic waves generated at an ultrasonic wave oscillator 1' incident to the next converter via lenses 7A and 7B. This diffracted light is converged at a lens 7C and converted into an electric signal at a photoelectric converter, allowing to execute the processings such as time axis expansion, compression, inversion and delay to an electric signal inputted to the ultrasonic wave oscillators 1 and 1'.
