Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain improved characteristics, with a simple structure, of a control valve which controls its opening by sensing the change in temperature, by applying a plunger inserted within an annular expansible valve body containing wax which is fitted into the front end of the valve cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An annular expansible valve body 4, consisting of an elastic annular body 9 made of rubber with wax filled within and a metal cylinder 10 fitted in at the open side of the annular body 9, is assembled into the front end of a cylindrical metal body 2 having a ledge 1 at its inner middle to stop assembled parts. At the center of this annular valve body 4, a bar type plunger 5 having a conical tip is inserted concentrically. A number of penetration holes 6 are provided along circumferential direction to a circular flange 7, which is an integral upper part of the plunger 5, for water to pass through. A compressed spring 8 is installed between the flange 7 and the cylindrical body 2 to keep the plunger at lowermost position.
