Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the axial dimensions of an automatic change gear by increasing the size of a cutout part of a snap ring while providing a positioning claw on the end of said cutout part. CONSTITUTION:A cutout part 30a having a prescribed circular arc length longer than that of a usual case (length slightly longer than that of a parking pole 27) is provided on an approximately circular snap ring 30, while positioning claw 30b extending outwardly is provided on one end of said cutout part. This snap ring 30 is fitted such that the cutout part 30a is positioned facing the arranged position of a parking mechanism comprising the parking pole 27, a return spring 29 and a parking rod 26, etc. Moreover, the positioning claw 30b of said snap ring 30 is located within a clutch plate fitting spline groove 12a of a transmission case 12.
