Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a smooth start and eliminate slip loss in a fluid coupling by disposing on the input side of a V-belt system stepless transmission, a fluid coupling with a centrifugal direct drive clutch. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 1 of a stepless transmission 100 connected to the output shaft of an engine, and a first tubular intermediate shaft 2 acting as an input shaft of a V-belt system stepless transmission mechanism 200 are connected to each other through a torque converter 300 with a direct drive clutch. Further, this intermediate shaft 2 is connected to a second tubular intermediate shaft 4 acting as the output shaft of the V-belt system stepless transmission mechanism 200 and an output shaft 3 of the stepless transmission 100 through a forward and backward changing-over planetary gear mechanism 400, third intermediate shaft 5, reduction gear 500 and differential gear 600.
