Abstract

PURPOSE:To alarm that the abrasion of a pad has reached to the limit by contacting the spring vibrating section against a disc rotor, when the friction pad has reached to the abrasion limit, and producing the high noise associated to the slip. CONSTITUTION:As a brake functions, the friction members 16, 18 in an outer pad 34 and inner pad 26 will abrade gradually from the contact face side. When reaching to the limit, the vibrating section 48 of a springboard 38 will contact against a disc rotor 10 rotating in the arrow direction. Here the vibrating section 48 will vibrate through the stick slip phenomena between the disc rotor 10, to produce the large and high noise. Since this noise has high frequency, it will provide quite effective alarm thereby the operator can easily know the abrasion of the friction pads 24, 26.
