Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a coathanger die that can flow out a molding material in a uniform manner in a transverse direction of the flow, by providing, within a manifold located between an inlet for the molding material and a die lip section, a partition member having communicative ports in its center and capable of reciprocating in parallel with the width of a die lip. CONSTITUTION:Between the inlet 1 for the molding material and the die lip section 3 for discharging it in a sheeet form is provided the manifold 2 for temporally storing the molding material, and within the manifold 2 is provided the partition member 4 comprising a column. A small diameter section 5 is provided in the center of the partition member 4 so that the communicative ports 6 are provided between the small diameter section 5 and the inner surfaces of the manifold 2. The partition member 4 is reciprocally driven in parallel with the width of the die lip, and therefore the flow of the molding material becomes generally equally distributed along the overall width of the die lip. Accordingly, the molding material can be molded into a sheet with it uniformly distributed in its traverse direction.
