Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled monofilament having a high knot strength, by heat-treating a drawn polymaide monofilament under no tension, drawing the heat-treated monofilament in the second stage, and heat-treating the secondarily drawn monofilament under specific conditions successively.
CONSTITUTION: A polyamide monofilament, having a diameter of 0.05W2mm, and drawn at a draw ratio of 3W5 in the first drawin stage is led to a pressurized chamber fed with saturated steam at a pressure ≥1kg/cm2.G, and heat-treated at a draw ratio of 0.70W1.0 for 0.05W5sec under no tension. The resultant heat- treated monofilament is then drawn at a draw ratio of 1.1W2.5 while being passed through a gas at 200W800°C and/or a liquid at 150W265°C for the total time of 0.05W5sec in the second stage. The secondarily drawn monofilament is further heat-treated in an inert gas at 150W700°C at a draw ratio of 0.85W1.0 under no tension to give the aimed monofilament having an orientation degree of amorphous molecules in the surface layer ≤0.5 and an average double refraction ≥50×10-3.
