Abstract

PURPOSE:To operate a metal flow angle immediately after welding by a real time, and to suppress generation of a defective to the minimum, by detecting the height and width of a bead from an optical cutting profile detecting information immediately after welding, which has been obtained by the optical cutting method. CONSTITUTION:A slit light beam 4 is irradiated to a bead 1 immediately after welding of a material tube 2 and its peripheral part, an optical cutting profile 7 passes through a narrow-band interference filter 8, is received by an ITV camera 9, is sent to a frame memory 10 and a picture data is recorded. From a sampling line selecting signal generating circuit 11, a longitudinal scanning signal is inputted to the frame memory 10, and at every longitudinal scanning signal, a received picture of the optical cutting profile 7 is detected by a maximum lumimance detecting circuit 12. Also, in a geometric exponent operating circuit 14, width of the bead is derived and moreover height of the bead is derived. In this way, a metal flow angle is operated by the circuit 14.
