Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a manifold pipe, by molding an exhaust seal by use of a cylindrical wire net consisting of a prescribed width copper wire in at least one end and heat resisting stainless steel in the other end, and bringing the manifold pipe into contact with the copper wire in order to improve its sliding property. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical wire net 10 whose both end parts 10a, 10c consist of a prescribed width copper wire, and whose intermediate part 10b consist of a knitted heat resisting stainless steel wire is flattened, a sealing plate 11 is brought into contact with its one surface, and they are formed in one body by a staple. Otherwise, the sealing plate 11 is inserted into the cylindrical wire net 10, and after that, it is pressed and a flat intermediate polymer is molded. Subsequently, the intermediate copolymer is wound around in a ring shape, is compressed in the axial direction, and an exhaust seal 12 is formed. Accordingly, even if the sealing plate 11 is scraped off by coming into contact with the manifold in the course of its use, it holds a good sliding property and also its heat resisting property since the copper wire contacts with it. In this regard, when one end part 13a of a cylindrical wire net 13, and other part 13b are knitted by the prescribed width copper wire and the heat resisting stainless steel wire, respectively, and the exhaust seal whose one end part 13a becomes its inside is formed and used in the same way as said method, the same effect is obtained.
