Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a coolant heater which utilizes the evaporation latent heat of Freon type coolant by composing the coolant heater of a finned tube heat exchanger and a drum pipe which adsorbs heat from the outer periphery of a drum. CONSTITUTION:Gas coolant flowed into a room heat exchanger 1 is condensed and liquefied by room air fed by a blower 2, the room air is heated by the condensing heat, and the room is heated. The liquefied coolant is fed through a liquid reservoir 3 and a circulation pump 4 to the finnedtube heat exchanger 6 of a coolant heater 9, is heated by the high temperature combustion gas by a combustor 5, and is evaporated. The two-phase coolant is then intimately contacted with the outer periphery of a drum 8 forming a combustion chamber to become saturated gas state while passing through the coiled drum pipe 7, and is returned to the heat exchanger 1. According to this structure, highly efficient operation can be performed irrespective of the variation in the quantity of circulating coolant.
