Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled sealant with good processability, a large curing rate and excellent weatherability and adhesion, prepd. by the reaction of a polymerized polyol on which a specified proportion of styrene and acrylonitrile is grafted with isophorone diisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: A vinyl compd. contg. styrene and acrylonitrile in a wt. ratio of 0.5W1.5 is graft polymerized with a polyether polyol or polyester polyol to obtain a polymerized polyol of MW about 2,000W10,000 having 2W3 functional groups. A polyol component of vinyl compd. content 5W25wt% prepd, if necessary, compounding said polymerized polyol with a polyether polyol or a compd. of MW≤1,000 contg. at least two amino groups and/or OH groups, is reacted with isophorone diisocyanate to obtain a prepolymer of NCO/OH eq. ratio 1.5W3 and NCO content 2W6%, which is arbitrarily compounded with diphenylmethane diisocyanate, to obtain a one-pack urethane sealant.
