Abstract

This is detected with a paper detecting photosensor 9 to actuate a switch. In a fixed time, for example, 1-2sec, after the action, a pressure roller 3 moves and grasps the paper 5 with a platen 1. Upon the separation of the resist pawl 6 from the platen 1, a paper bail 8 moves away from the platen and a paper guide 7 is set. Thereafter, the platen 1 turns to feed the paper 5 by a fixed amount and the paper bail 7 moves away from the platen. Thus, automatic paper setting is completed.
