Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of power of a battery and facilitate driving operation, by providing a device for automatically turning the headlight of a vehicle on or off and by opening a headlight circuit in connection with the operation of the parking brake. CONSTITUTION:A headlight circuit 1 and a marker lighting circuit 4 are coupled to each other through a relay switch 8. A coil 7 is excited by closing the marker lighting circuit 4. The relay switch 8 connected to the headlight circuit 1 is opened or closed by the coil 7. The marker lighting circuit 4 is provided with a parking brake switch 5, which is opened or closed by the operation of a parking brake to light or put out a parking brake marker 6. When the parking brake is operated, the marker 6 is lighted and the relay switch 8 having a normally closed contact is manipulated to open the headlight circuit 1. The circuit 1 can be opened or closed by alighting switch 3 independently of the operation of the parking brake. The relay switch 8 can be put back into its original state by a manual switch 9.
