Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a device which allows the position of a sensor to track the change of water level by coupling a float and one of two pieces of reels above the water surface by means of a pulley provided in the bottom of a waterway, and coupling the other reel to the sensor under the water. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 3 which measures the velocity of flow and a float 6 are provided in a waterway 1 having a water surface 2. The float 6 is coupled to a large sized reel 4 via a pulley 5 provided on the bottom surface of the waterway, and the sensor 3 is couplied to a small-sized reel directly coupled coaxially to a large-sized reel 4 by means of a wire rope 10. If the device is constituted in this way, the reel 4 and the reel 9 rotate in accordance with the vertical movement of the water level and therefore the sensor moves vertically along the guide rail 11 fixed to the side wall of the waterway, thus the ratio between the water level H and the sensor depth h is always constant and the sensor is placed in the position of an average velocity of flow in spite of the fluctuation in the water level.
