Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive copying sheet which is remarkably less in coloration and is completely free of discolorization with time, by using a specific structure of a lactonic dye as an electron donative colorant, together with a sequestering agent. CONSTITUTION:A water paint, containing as an electron donative colorant a lactonic dye of formulaI[where a-d are all C atoms, 1-2 of a-d are N atoms, others are C atoms with or without a substituent, the bonds a-b, b-c, and c-d may form other rings, and X and Y are each (substituted) benzene, naphthalene, or an aromatic heterocyclic ring and may form a ring by combination][e.g., phthalide, (di)azaphthalide, or fluoranic dye, as represented by formulas II-IV], a sequestering agent (B) (e.g., sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate), and an acid developer, is coated on a support to obtain a heat-sensitive copying sheet.
