Abstract
PURPOSE: To flocculate fine catalytic reduction catalysts to flocs and to settle the same efficiently by allowing carbonates to coexist in the reaction liquid of the catalytic reduction of org. compounds.
CONSTITUTION: In the stage of settling metallic catalysts such as palladium and platinum suspended in the reaction liquid of the catalytic reduction of org. compounds such as olefin compounds or ether, carbonates such as calcium carbonate and barium carbonate are allowed to coexist. Then, the carbonates flocculate the catalyst particles in the reacting liquid, thereby forming flock-like paricles, and settling the same quickly. In this way, the fine catalysts are recovered easily.
