Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the propagation of microorganisms, by feeding continuously hydrazine with low concentration to service water so that it acts on microorganisms to get rid of slime forming ability, or by destroying viscosity of occurring slime so that it is disperesed and made to disappear.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W20ppm, preferably 1W10ppm hydrazine is added to service water so that the propagation of microorganisms in the service water is suppressed. Hydrazine hydrate is usually preferable as hydrazine to be used, and hydrazine sulfate or hydrazine hydrochloride may be used. In feeding hydrazine, preferably hydrazine is added continuously to keep the above-mentioned concentration successively. Since it has dispersing and removing action on slime having occurred once, the feed may be stopped temporarity.
