Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the improvement of time indicating precision, miniaturizing and thinnig of a watch, and reducing of a manufacturing cost, by a method wherein, in case polarity of a driving signal is different from that in a drive direction of a motor, acting as an electromagnetic converter, the driving signal in a positive direction is generated immediately. CONSTITUTION:If, with a stem 8 pressed, a division circuit 2b is released from reset, the division circuit 2b, a pulse polarity decision circuit 3, and a drive circuit 4 actuate to apply a drive signal to a motor 5 working as an electromagnetic converter. In case the polarity direction of the motor 5 stopping running adapts itself to the drive signal, the motor 5 is actuated, and in case it is in a reaction direction, a motor drive detecting circuit 12 detects and decides an undriving condition from the presence of a reverse exciting voltage produced in the circuit 4. In the case of the former, a pulse polarity correcting circuit 14 does not operate, and the circuit 3 causes subsequent signals to be generated in a serial manner, and in the case of the latter, a correcting pulse generating circuit 13 is caused to actuate immediately to generate a drive signal in a polarity direction which enables the motor 5 to run in a normal manner.
