Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a hot-water supply property of an instantaneous hot-water heater with prepurge and safety, by a method wherein a timer circuit for keeping a prepurge completing condition and continuous burning of a source to ignite a pilot flame is connected to a water current switch, flame detecting means are individually installed to a main burner and the source to ignite a pilot flame. CONSTITUTION:With a water current switch 7 brought to OFF, a time circuit 22 actuates, a prepurge circuit in an IC combustion control circuit 21 keeps a prepurge completing condition for a given period of time, and simultaneously, a source to ignite a pilot flame continues to burn. Thus, if the water current switch 7 is brought to ON for said period of time, and because of a prepurge completing condition, a main valve 42 is opened through resetting of the timer circuit 22 and turning-ON of an airflow switch 52 and a relay 32 to perform a prompt ignition to supply high-temperature hot water. An ignition electrode 54 is used in combination with a flame rod, and another flame rod 53 is set to a side of the source for ignition. Flame detecting circuits 13a and 13b are mounted to their respective rods, and this performs relaiable confirmation of the source for ignition of pilot flame, thereby improving safety.
