Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce uneven sensitivity and an output variation, by using a binder component which is excellent in its solvent resisting property, as that which is used for a magnetic layer to be a lower layer of a magnetic recording medium having a multi-layer structure. CONSTITUTION:As for a binder component for forming a magnetic layer of a lower layer, phenoxy resin, polyurethane resin which has at least 2 or more hydroxyl groups and 10,000-30,000 molecular weight, and also an isocyanate compound having at least 2 or more isocyanate radicals are used jointly, 2 or more isocyanate radicals in the isocyanate compound are made to react to both a hydroxyl group in the phenoxy resin and 2 or more hydroxyl groups in the polyurethane resin so as to form a three-dimensional cross-linked structure, and a magnetic layer of a lower layer which has elevated its solvent dissolution resisting property is obtained.
