Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to improve lubricating performance of plain bearings, by exposing the plain bearings in passages of a fluid to be handled, so that the plain bearings are always kept in contact with the fluid. CONSTITUTION:A fluid passage 49 faces a plain bearing 41 of a first bearing block 39 while a fluid passage 53 faces a plain bearing 42 of a second bearing block 40. Liquid introduced from a suction port 48 is carried to an inlet portion 47A of an impeller 47 via the fluid passage 49, and the pumped-up liquid discharged under pressure from an outlet portion 47B can be delivered from an outlet port 54 via the fluid passage 53. Since, by employing such an arrangement, both of the two plain bearings 41, 42 can be always kept in contact with the pumped-up liquid in a positive manner, it is enabled to improve lubricating performance of the plain bearings 41, 42.
