Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the wave proof of a boat, by providing the boat with a V- shaped sliding surface which extends on the central portion of the sliding surface of the V-shaped bottom of the boat body along almost the entire length of the latter sliding surface and has a width equal to one third to one fourth of that of the sliding surface of the bottom and is protruded downward, to reduce the water resistance in a wide speed range. CONSTITUTION:A V-shaped sliding surface 3, whose width is equal to one third to one fourth of that of the V-shaped sliding surface 2 of the bottom of a boat body 1, is protruded downward and extends on the central portion of the sliding surface 2 along almost the entire length of the surface 2. At the low speed, the boat proceeds with deep draft, the sliding surface 2 is deeply soaked in water and the boat is put in the same condition as a light boat of large sliding surface area so that the water resistance at the low speed is reduced. At the high speed, the draft is shallow, the ratio of the lower sliding surface 3 under water to the upper sliding surface 2 under water is made larger and the boat is put in the same condition as a heavy boat of small sliding surface area so that the water resistance at the high speed is reduced.
