Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve display of excellent picture, by adjusting a voltage distribution in a vertical deflection electrode of a signal for vertical deflection of each section.
CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray electrode 2 generating electron beam is provided with each section where a screen 9 is split into a plurality of sections vertically, and a plurality of vertical deflection electrodes 4 are provided so that the path of electron beam can be clipped at each section. A vertical deflection signal is applied to the electrode 4 and electron beam is vertically deflected so that the beam can display a plurality of lines in each section. Conductors 13 and 13' for vertical electric field forming of the electrode 4 are made by surface resistance bodies 13a-13p and 13'a-13'p and the vertical deflection signal is applied to the end. Adjustment is made so that the voltage distribution in the conductors 13 and 13' are independently changed at each section.
