Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the mechanism simple, low-cost, and small-size, by turning a magnetic card by a motor, which is driven when a card saucer is pressed in, to read or write information on the magnetic card. CONSTITUTION:When a card saucer 4 is pressed in, a rear end part 15A of a head driving member 15 in the path of the card saucer 4 is pressed and is turned against a spring 17 to close a switch, and a head guide member 19 falls. A magnetic head 22 falls also through a head supporting arm 23 and is brought into contact with the surface of a magnetic card A1. By closing of the switch, a plunger 14 is excited, and a detaining pawl 11a of a lock member 11 is engaged with a lock part engaging hole 9 of the card saucer 4 to hole the card saucer 4. Then, a motor 24 rotates and drives the magnetic head supporting arm 23, and the magnetic head 22 is rotated at a prescribed angle to slide on the surface of the magnetic card A1, thus writing or reading information.
