Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an immobilized enzymically active substance having a very stable enzymic activity, by gelatinizing a mixture solution of an aqueous solution of a polysaccharide containing sulfuric acid groups with an enzymically active substance in the presence of a polycationic high polymer.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of a polysaccharide, e.g. carrageenan or furcellaran, containing 10%(w/w) or more sulfuric acid groups in the molecular structure is mixed with an enzymically active substance, e.g. an enzyme or microbial cell, and a polycationic high polymer, e.g. a polyalkyleneimine, chitosan, a copolymer of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate with acrylamide, aminohexylated agarose or dimethylaminoethylated crosslinked dextran, to gelatinize the polysaccharide in the resultant mixture solution.
