Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare human hyaluronidase of high purity without exhibiting any side effects on administering to the human body very efficiently, by treating a human urine with an adsorbent containing silicon.
CONSTITUTION: A human urine is brought into contact with an adsorbent containing silicon and the adsorbed substance is then eluted under alkaline conditions to give a raw material solution containing urokinase and hyaluronidase, which is then brought into contact with preferably a strongly basic anion exchanger to adsorb and remove the impurities from the raw material solution and give a concentrated aqueous solution containing the urokinase and the hyaluronidase. The urokinase is then obtained from the concentrated aqueous solution by the conventional method, and the hyaluronidase is collected from the waste fraction after obtaining the urokinase, by fractionating with ammonium sulfate, a zinc salt and acetone.
