Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an agent for inhibiting the activity of alkali phosphates, acid phosphates or β-glucuronidase, by using living or dead cells of bacteria belonging to Streptococcus genus as active component.
CONSTITUTION: Living or dead cells of bacteria belonging to Streptococcus genus (e.g. Streptocuccus faecium, Streptococcus faecalis, etc.) are used as the agent for inhibiting the activity of the above enzymes. It has become clear that the activity of said enzyme in blood serum increases remarkably in the case of various diseases such as tumor. It is also known that each kind of tumor cell has characteristic enzyme on the surface. Accordingly, the agent for inhibiting said enzyme is useful in relation to the remedy of cancer.
