Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a stereophonic sound having characteristics whose acoustic pressure in the car is flat extending over a wide frequency range, by dividing an audio frequency signal into 2 high and low acoustic areas by use of a filter, and selecting its cut-off frequency and frequency characteristics of the cut-off part. CONSTITUTION:An audio frequency signal is made to pass through high pass filters 13, 14, a high band signal is applied to left and right channel loudspeakers 6, 8, also both left and right signals are mixed by a mixing circuit 15, and after that, a low band signal is applied to a center woofer loudspeaker 11 through a low-pass filter 16. When the cut-off frequency of the filters 13, 14 and 16 is selected to about 250Hz by which acoustic pressure in the car rises abnormally, and also the damping characteristics in the cut-off part are selected suitably, acoustic pressure in a free space becomes 23, 24 in the low acoustic band and the high acoustic band, respectively, and although the dropped characteristics are shown as 26 in the proximity of the cut-off frequency, the acoustic pressure becomes flat as 25 in the car, therefore, a stereophonic sound having the excellent reproducing characteristics are reproduced.
