Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve flaw detection and impregnation simultaneously by impregnating a test piece with an ester acrylate based monomer mixed with a copolymerization starter and a copolymerization inhibitor after a fluorescent dye is dissolved thereinto. CONSTITUTION:0.02 part of a fluorescent dye is dissolved into 100 part of a functional acryl based vinyl monomer to color and 2 part of copolymerization starter and 0.04 part of copolymerization inhibitor are mixed into the liquid thus obtained. A test piece is coated with the liquid as mixed with a proper amount of petrolic solvent and a plasticizer as required. After the liquid penetrates into defects, the surface of the test piece is washed with a petrolic solvent or the like and coated with a mixed liquid of calcium carbonate dispersed in the petrolic solvent, which makes the liquid penetrating into defects to appear on surface of the test piece. Upon the irradation of black light, the defects emerges on the test piece. Subsequently, the developer attached to the surface is removed and it is heated to solidify. Thus, the detection of defects on the test piece and the impregnation thereof with the liquid can be done simultaneously.
