Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to perfrom a precise measurement, by a method wherein, in a device which measures a state of pleats formed in a cloth, two probing sensors are mounted to a probe moving to a center from the outside of the cloth rotatively driven to measure the coordinate of the cloth. CONSTITUTION:A sample cloth T is placed on a retainer 2, and hangs under its own weight to form a pleats. The retainer is turned by a driving gear 3. A probe 7 is supported at a stay 5 by means of a stand 6 which moves vertically, and a projection measuring device 8 for measuring a projecting distance is installed. A probing sensor 9a, extending in the direction of the probe axis, and a probing sensor 9b, extending perpendicularly to the probing sensor 9a, are positioned at the forward end of the probe. The probing sensor 9a measures the depth of the pleat. In the case of the pleat which is formed in the shape that the deep part of the cove in the pleat spreads more widely than the inlet thereof, the interval width of the pleat is measured through rotation of the 9b. A measurement is performed in synchronism with turning of the retainer to record the measurements.
