Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the sag of a magnetic tape by supplying a motor controlling circuit with the detection signal of a detector for the turning direction of a capstan driving motor. CONSTITUTION:When a temporary stop command signal is supplied from a mode controlling circuit 18 to a special reproduction controlling circuit 75, a capstan- driving-direction forward/backward mode switching circuit 75a supplies an inversion command signal to a capstan motor driving circuit 24d. At the same time, the temporary stop command signal is supplied to a braking commanding circuit 75c to supply a braking control signal through an OR gate 75j and a switching transistor 75f to an inverting amplifier 24b, which is turned off. A turning-direction detector 73 detects the rotating direction of a capstan motor 13 to supply a detection signal 74 to a turning-speed detecting circuit 75i. When the turning speed decreases below a prescribed value, its detection signal is supplied to a capstan-drive stop commanding circuit 75b. A driving circuit 24d stops the capstan motor 13 on the basis of the temporary stop command signal.
