Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a heat shrinkable tube made of a fluororubber as the main component by a method in which a fluororubber compounded with an ehtylene- ethyl acrylate copolymer is bridged and then expanded into a tubular form. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 100wt% fluororubber (e.g., Viton by Du Pont) and 10-50wt% ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer containing 8-20wt% ethyl acrylate is molded into a tubular form, bridged, and then expanded to obtain a heat shrinkable tube. The tube thus obtained is used suitably for reconnection of communication cables or power cables or for prevention of the corrosion of steel pipes, etc.
