Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance to perform a steady motion, by a method wherein, a device which detects an ink particle by means of two detecting flat plates, a signal of either of the flat plates or a sum signal is used in addition to difference signals of the two flat plates. CONSTITUTION:In case an ink particle passes through a detector flat plates 13a side, a plus signal from an amplifier 16 is outputted, and a plus signal is outputted (f) through comparison with a reference signal +E1. In case an ink particle passes through a flat plate 13b side, a minus signal from the amplifier is outputted, and a plus signal is outputted (e) through comparison with a reference signal -E2. In case an ink particle is normal, said signals (e) and (f) are not outputted. A comparator 20 detects a sum signal (d), and this permits finding of a normal charge condition. In case said signal (d) is not detected, a control is performed by varying a clock signal applied to an information source.
