Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the degree of parallelness of tool sockets and the accuracy of the center distance between the tool sockets by a method wherein a pair of opposed chains connecting the tool socket are integrated with each other by common connecting pin. CONSTITUTION:A tool magazine 23 for a machine tool provided with an automatic tool change device is constructed by mounting the tool socket to the chain 20. The tool socket 23 is inserted into holes formed in outside link plates 21, 21' of the chain 20 and is fixed by a snap ring 29. The outside link plates 21, 21' and inside link plates 22, 22' are spaced a predetermined distance from each other by a guide roller 27 and a bush 30 and are connected by the connecting pin 31. Upper parts of the outside link plates 21, 21' are connected to each other by a stay pin 34. Side rollers 32 are provided on the outside of the link plates 21, 22.
