PURPOSE: To construct a retaining wall having a strength the same with that of a retaining wall constructed by concreting in site, in a reduced construction period and at a low cost by assembling prefabricated members of a sheathing retaining wall in site.
CONSTITUTION: Front walls 6 each having on the backside thereof counterfort 7 arranged at a fixed interval are prefabricated in the factory. Sheathing retaining wall members thus prefabricated are transported to the site and are placed on the levelling concrete 4. Then, reinforcing bars 9 are passed through the through holes formed at the bottom parts of the counterfort 7 and concrete is deposited to form bottom plinths 8. Thus the prefabricated sheathing retaining wall members and the pliths 8 formed by concreting in site are rigidly integrated.
