Abstract

PURPOSE::To obtain the titled dash free of gaps, vibration and noise leakage, by a method wherein compressed urethane foam inpregnated with viscoelastic substance is heated and expanded to be attached fully to the bottom of an automobile. CONSTITUTION:Compressed urethane foam 9' impregnated with viscoelastic substance is attached to the rear surface of a heat-insulating hard face material 8 formed almost along the shape of the floor surface and the clad form 7' obtained is laid closely and fixedly on the floor surface with desired space a. Then, when the form is heated by the use of heat produced during baking finish of the automobile, the face material keeps the original form owing to its heat insulation, the viscoelastic substance is melted again while the urethane foam under a compression state is expanded again and the whole space a is filled with the urethane foam 9. The urethane foam 9 is formed ito the state adequate to the rough shape of the floor surface. When it is cooled, the viscoelastic substance is hardened and the shape is maintained suitable for the purpose.
