Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a line printer in which vibration is prevented during printing and is capable of high speed printing by dividing the printing head into three groups and driving each group by a specific method. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 3 consists of divided heads 3A, 3B and 3C, on each of which nearly the same number of dot generating elements are mounted, and the heads are reciprocated in 3-phase sine waves with 120 deg. phase difference among them and the same amplitude by means of three eccentric cams and three crank levers driven by a rotating motor. Since this construction gives a reciprocating mechanism in which the center of gravity of the moving section can be kept at a fixed position and on which no moment is exerted, it can be made a high speed printer of small size, light weight and, moreover, little noise.
