Abstract
PURPOSE:To lower cost by reducing number of switching elements, in a multinozzle on-demand type ink jet head having plural piezoelectric elements, by composing a driving circuit using diode matrix. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric elements 2-1,...2-n are charged with electricity through resistances 8-1,...8-n and 4-1,...2-n when it is in standby position. When it becomes in need of jetting ink, electric charge of the piezoelectric element corresponding to the nozzle needed for jetting the ink is discharged, and therefore, switching elements 2-1,...2-n are appropriately brought into ON positions. In order to prevent discharging of electric charge from the piezoelectric element for the nozzle which is not in need of jetting ink at that time, diodes 9-1,...9-n are utilized. By making only thus needed piezoelectric element discharge the electric charge, the switching elements which are in ON position are turned into OFF position after elapse of a prescribed period of time, and at the same time, a switching element 6 is turned into ON position. And then, only the piezoelectric element which had been selected and discharged is charged with electricity, and ink is jetted from an interlocked nozzle.
