Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a photoreceptor capable of forming a high-contrast image, by coating an organic solvent dispersing a photoconductor and an oil- soluble binder on a conductive substrate, and immersing this coated layer in an aqueous aluminum chloride solution. CONSTITUTION:An organic solvent dispersion liquid consisting mainly of a photoconductor and an oil-soluble binder is coated on a conductive substrate and dried to form a photoconductive layer. This coated surface is immersed in an aqueous solution of aluminum chloride, washed with water, and dried. A metallic plate, a metallic foil-laminated plastic film, etc. are embodied as the usable conductive substrate. Zinc oxide, cadmium sulfide, titanium oxide, etc. are embodied as the photoconductor. A silicone resin, an alkyd resin, polyester, etc. are exemplified as the oil-soluble binder. As aluminum chloride, articles available on the market as the form of anhydride, AlCl3, or crystalline hydrate, AlCl3.6H2O are usable as they are.
