PURPOSE:To obtain a welding method without preheating which can prevent overlap beads and lack of fusin defects in non-cosumable electrode arc welding by pulsing welding current and performing the melting of the work and the feeding of a filler wire separately. CONSTITUTION:In arc welding using a non-consumable electrode, particularly in welding materials of good thermal conductivity such as copper-base metals without preheating, welding current is pulsed. At the flow of the peak current thereof, the weld is melted and at the flow of the base current, a filler wire is fed, whereby the work is welded. Thereby, the good weld beads having no overlap beads are obtained. When the value of the base current is controlled, the diameter of the filler wire suited for this can be employed. Further, the amt. of melt sticking suited for the size of the molten area formed at the peak current is obtained by controlling the supply speed of the filler wire and the generation of overlap beads is surely prevented.
